Air France KLM Martinair Cargo (AFKLMP Cargo) returns to South Korea’s main deck cargo market with a dedicated Boeing 747-400 freighter service connecting Amsterdam and Seoul-Incheon. The service launches March 30, 2026.

Route Details and Capacity

The new service operates three weekly frequencies in an AMS-ICN-HKG-AMS rotation via Hong Kong. Flights will use Boeing 747-400ERF or 747-400BCF aircraft, giving freight forwarders dedicated main deck capacity independent of passenger schedules.

The Hong Kong leg benefits too. AFKLMP Cargo increases dedicated freighter frequencies from five to six weekly flights when the Summer 2026 season starts.

What This Means for Forwarders

The route targets high-value, time-critical cargo flows. From Europe, expect movement of high-tech equipment, semiconductor manufacturing gear, aerospace parts, pharmaceuticals and project shipments. From South Korea, key flows include semiconductors, electronics, automotive and EV components, medical technology and e-commerce volumes.

AFKLMP Cargo will offer its full special cargo product range on the route:

  • Pharma – temperature-controlled solutions for pharmaceutical shipments
  • Fresh – perishable cargo handling
  • Heavy and Outsize – oversized project cargo capacity
  • High-value electronics handling

Strategic Network Play

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol serves as the European hub. The service connects Seoul-Incheon to key markets across Europe, Africa and the Americas through the combined Air France, KLM and Delta network.

“The economic corridors between Europe and South Korea are among the most dynamic in the world. With this new freighter service, we reinforce our position in Northeast Asia and offer our customers increased reliability, flexibility, and access to dedicated main deck capacity.”

– Pierre-Olivier Bandet, Executive Vice President Cargo at Air France-KLM

Why South Korea Now

South Korea’s position as a global logistics and manufacturing hub drives the decision. The country anchors critical supply chains for semiconductors, automotive technology and advanced electronics. Growing customer demand made dedicated freighter capacity necessary.

The service marks AFKLMP Cargo’s continued investment in main deck capacity and commitment to building supply chains for complex, specialized cargo flows.
